Past, present, and future meet as we walk along the Brooklyn Bridge retracing the original Fulton Ferry route from Manhattan to Brooklyn.

The first ferry route between Lower Manhattan and Brooklyn was established in the 1630s, just a few years after the settling of New York by the Dutch. While Cornelius Dircksen Hoagland may have been the first to run a ferry between the two boroughs, Robert Fulton and his brother-in-law William Cutting popularized it in more modern times.

Manhattan and Brooklyn have always been dependent on one another (a large percentage of Hoagland’s passengers were farmers bringing daily produce into Manhattan). Manhattan residents were moving to Brooklyn as far back as the 1600s, but the introduction of the Fulton Ferry, which opened in 1814, cemented Brooklyn as New York’s first suburb.

Please join @illkoncept, Photer, @sleepingplanes, @billydeee, @Mich_Viljoen and special guests for our second annual NFT NYC photowalk!

Whether you're a professional or hobbyist with a phone, all are welcome on our adventure. We’ll talk architecture, history and photography as we traverse the East River making our way to Dumbo, NYC’s original suburb.

The group will meet at the east side of City Hall Park (in front of Brooklyn Bridge pedestrian path entry way) at 1pm EST. Just in case of late arrivals, we will hang around the meetup point for around 30 minutes before taking off. Next, we will walk across the Brooklyn Bridge into DUMBO, where we will end at Jane's Carousel.

Also, there is a photo contest sponsored by Photer with cash prizes paid in Ethereum. Learn more about the contest and how to register here.

We would love for you to come connect, network, and make some art!

*Restrooms, restaurants, and bars are conveniently located next to the ending location via Time Out Market.
