Golden Corridor

Golden Corridor

At the height of mid-century street photography, Midtown Manhattan was referred to as “The Golden Corridor.” On a sunny winter afternoon, a group of 70+ photographers spent 2 hours exploring the historic stretch of NYC.

Why Street Photography?

Democratized Art.

We believe in the positive effects of the arts and street photography is perhaps the most democratic art form: The barrier is low, the reward is high.

Preservation

Street photography reflects the world around us and we believe it’s important to create a record of people’s history. We are preservationists.

Flexibility

Street photography has a loose definition and allows us to explore lots of ideas: Photography conducted for art or enquiry that features unmediated chance encounters and random incident within public place

Community.

To bring a community together. To celebrate a genre. To celebrate the good in what we document. Street Photography is an active appreciation of the beauty of your immediate surroundings, you’re embracing the beautiful, creative possibilities in every moment.
